Foggy start to the journey and Sharing a hotel room

Nov 4 - We set off from home with a bit of fog, that only got heavier the further south we went, but it did lift by the time we reached Nanaimo.   On to the ferry and there was lots of low fog all along the way, but the sun was shining above.  About halfway through the trip, the fog was really heavy and we spent the last half of the trip with the ship's horn being blasted every 2 minutes, to alert everyone we were at hand.  We didn't hear any other horns though, so that was good.  Once we were away from the water, all the fog was gone and the day was lovely.

We checked into our hotel for the night, but, we found we were going to have company for the night.  This little fellow was waiting for us.  A bearded lumberjack ducky complete with an axe.

How stinking cute is he?!  He is going to be accompanying us for the rest of our trip.

Now for an early night as we are up at 3:45 AM to get to the airport for our 5 AM check-in.  It is going to be a long day tomorrow.  Seven hours of flying and 3 time zones later we arrive in Miami.

  1. I am so jealous... I’ve been looking into that same cruise itinerary with Disney! Have fun and enjoy! It had just started wet heavy snowing here, forecast shows it will continue for the next few day. I guess winter is here. Looking forward to more posts from your holiday! Rick
